non-production version ti4600?

I recently purchased an MSI Ti4600 AGP card... I noticed when booting up the system the video card spits out some info to the screen, to the effect of this (i haven't bothered writing it down yet, it goes too fast, but you'll get the idea):

NV28 (I think)
engineering release
not for production use

should I be concerned? It seems to work just fine (97fps in MOHAA - I used to struggle with 20-30 fps in my old system 😱)

I bought it with some components from Monarch Computer system. One think I noticed when I got the parts (mobo, ram, cpu, video card) is that the little silver seal on the video card package was broken. This may have been because they tested the card in the system when they verified the mobo/cpu/ram setup was okay, but not sure.

if it works and you are happy with it then don't worry. The screen you see is the Video BIOS and maybe it uses some beta bios. You can flash the card if you really want to.

probably your card is a pre-production/sample/prototype..
it's probably a card that was sent to reviewers to be tested
