I, like many of you, have been stupendously displeased with the candidates fielded by the Republicans and Democrats lately.

Totally off the realm of possible, but whom would you want to give a go as President?

I'd support Alton Brown, smart, nice, creative, and a good speaker :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alton_Brown

LoL :

"Brown suffered a motorcycle crash outside of Las Vegas. His only injury was a broken clavicle. This injury was caught on camera and was shown in episode 4. Brown wrote on his website that "it was a low charisma event. No flames, no smoke... just a lot of dust and discomfort..."

Post your non-politician candidate here!

Apologies in advance if this is a recent repost of any sort.

Amanda Tapping.

Or we could bring Phil Hartman back from the dead, and make him president.

We could just dig him up and parade him, Weekend at Bernies style ..

He'd automatically be better than Bush :)

I am hoping for a viable 3rd party candidate to shake things up, and the only person I can think of who has the resources, experience and platform to pull it off is Bloomberg.

Honestly, I am hoping Bloomberg and Hagel team up.

Well, I like your thinking, but the point of the thread is to get your idea of NON political people (even pundits, commentators, like Rush or Michael Moore) who you'd like to see as President :)

Bloomberg is doing enough damage here in NYC, and you want him to lead the country? Seems to love insane contradictory policies like encouraging construction all over Manhattan at 2-4AM with jackhammers going at 180dB in order to make popular tourist & shopping areas 100% residential (kicking the businesses out), while at the same time arresting people who have noise other than construction. Kalikow, the flunky he put in charge of the MTA, is doing about as well as Michael "Heckuva Job" Brown.

He's not quite as bad as Bush, but still really awful. And who knows, with the ego trip from the presidential office (not that his isn't oversized enough already), he could get even worse than Bush!

Also, it would be like Bush was still in office, as Bush & Bloomberg are probably having an affair. Look at how they have their hands over each other's shoulders in the pictures where Bloomberg meets Bush at JFK airport.

Don S. Davis (General Hammond)

Jim Cramer would be a good choice too. No, I'm not joking.

Heh, well he'd be better than Clinton as well, feel better now?

Note to Bush loyalists : Disliking Bush for a variety of legitimate reasons is good enough reason to put jabs in at him at every opportunity :) If a spade is a spade, it's fine to say so.
