Non-permanent thermal adhesives?

I just sold my X850XT for a 7900GT and I want to reuse my VF700Cu w/ RAMSINKS. Problem is the RAMSINKS aren't 100% fresh since they're used on my previous video card for more than half a year. They don't stick as well, some of them have dust particles on the tape, and I'm not sure they will perform at the highest level on my new 7900GT. I want to take the tape off and put some real paste but I also don't want to make it a permanent stick. Are there any solutions?

Link

Second or Third from the bottom depending on how much you need.
You can't really click on any of the products from the link (I have no idea why :p) but you can still add them to card and buy them.

(and they stick forever, well, not FOREVER, just untill you get a hairdryer and take them off ;))

scratch it until the tape comes off?

What if I just put new tape over the old tape?

Use your sister's nail polish remover to remove the old adhesive Luke!

Then I'd skip using the thermal sticky pads as they aren't very efficient at transferring heat compared to the option I use. I use a combination of 25% thermal expoxy 2 poart artic silver and 75% regular artic silver. Yes, that's plenty strong enough to get it to stick and if you try and use a stronger bond, you'll marry those parts so they'll not ever come apart short of soaking the board in acetone. It also has the advantage over the sticky pads of not losing its grip under mild heating.
