Non-optimized WiFi connection?

I just got Verizon Fios and they gave me an ActionTec wireless router. My wireless connection seem to indicate a connection speed of 54Mbps, but my video streams from YouTube seem to load up slower compared to my wired connection.

Is there anyway I can optimize this? I remember using cable modem before and was able to stream videos at the same rate as the wired connection. The Fios installers told me not to touch the settings for the router or else I will mess up the Fios TV.

Any tips? Thanks!

Oh wow. Thanks! I totally forgot about DrTcp. I remember doing this same optimization technique a few years back. I guess I just forgot about it.
