I tried to open an USABancshares account through Gomez in February. I only put 1$ instead of 100$ into the account and Gomez told me, that I was no longer elligible for the other 100$. About two month ago there were 100$ deposited into my USABancshares account and I am not really sure, where they came from. At the same time my boyfriend did the deal with Gomez properly and hasn't received his 100$ yet, although they are approved in his deals listing. Thats all I can tell you about that topic.

I just opened it now .... there is nothing that says you must be a Systemax customer in their agreement. I think they're happy taking anyones money.

I'd pretty much forgotten about these guys - opened an account there roughly 4 months ago, and have yet to receive my $100 signup bonus. Balance still shows up as $185.07 - my initial $100 deposit, plus a few rebates and whatnot that I'd transferred there to simulate activity. Besides, they spelled my name wrong on my debit card, never sent me a PIN, and have a crappy interface.

I closed my USBancshares acc't after I got the runaround from a CSR about the 100 dollars. They didn't show me as applying through a link for it and I forgot who I went thru too (it wasn't gomez).

I applied for a similar $100 bonus back in Oct. but was rejected due to a bad credit report. Why was USABancshares the first financial institution ever to reject me? "Maybe we're just more careful," they said. I soon discovered just how careful - that credit report was for someone else, a person whose middle initial and SS# differed from mine. This and massive service problems (online and by phone) caused me to close my account in just two weeks rather than the normal six-month minimum. At least they let me keep the bonus.

Recently, my father applied for an account and $100 bonus, and USABancshares accepted him but said he wouldn't receive a *second* bonus. This puzzled him because he'd never dealt with this institution before. But then, a few days later, I received at my address a USABancshares ATM card (complete with PIN) and some documents. It turned out that USABancshares, the "careful" bank, had confused the two of us. They are going to pay my father his $100, but he's going to close his account as soon as the ninety-day minimum period is up, and that's probably a good example for everybody to follow. Be careful. Be very, very careful.

I must be a lucky person -- they set up my account and mispelled my first name on the ATM card and checks (a common mistake people make with my first name). I called and they immediately fed-x'ed me new checks with the correct name, sent a new ATM card -- and the same day credited my account with $100 (second day the account was open). I assumed that was my $100 credt for opening the account. Now, 90 days later, they have put another hundred in -- The account is now at $305 with interest -- Heluva hot deal for me. Their on line support was fast and helpful. Too bad they are messing up some people's accounts, but my experience has been good.

By the way, if you apply for too many of these deals it does screw up your credit report -- like applying for loans when you are just cehcking prices -- if you authorze them to check your credit report, it shows that your credit report is being hit a lot and banks, etc. look at that information as someone trying to get a lot of credit who may not be a good credit risk.
