I applied for a similar $100 bonus back in Oct. but was rejected due to a bad credit report. Why was USABancshares the first financial institution ever to reject me? "Maybe we're just more careful," they said. I soon discovered just how careful - that credit report was for someone else, a person whose middle initial and SS# differed from mine. This and massive service problems (online and by phone) caused me to close my account in just two weeks rather than the normal six-month minimum. At least they let me keep the bonus.
Recently, my father applied for an account and $100 bonus, and USABancshares accepted him but said he wouldn't receive a *second* bonus. This puzzled him because he'd never dealt with this institution before. But then, a few days later, I received at my address a USABancshares ATM card (complete with PIN) and some documents. It turned out that USABancshares, the "careful" bank, had confused the two of us. They are going to pay my father his $100, but he's going to close his account as soon as the ninety-day minimum period is up, and that's probably a good example for everybody to follow. Be careful. Be very, very careful.
