The thing is, people say you can't see more than 60 fps, but I can see 60 Hz CRT flicker, so obviously, thats not true.

(assuming your monitor can handle the increased fps)

With LCDs locked at 60hz, there's no real point. On CRTs that could handle higher though, you could definitely notice, both in FPS and in refresh rate flicker. ATI also used to have transparency anti aliasing, which only worked at > 60 fps.
