Non-gamer video card for Core 2 Duo/Asus P5W DH?

I am building a system around an Asus P5W DH motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 processor. I also have a Dell 2407 wide-screen monitor.

The motherboard has no onboard video, so I need to buy a video card. I have an ATI HDTV Wonder that I will put in it, so I'm going to go with an ATI card for best compatability.

I am not a gamer, in that I never ever ever play games, so I don't need an expensive card with pipelines and such.

I just need a good video card that 1) works with the HDTV Wonder, and 2) has DVI out (I don't need dual DVIs), and 3) can do full-resolution video on my 1920 x 1440 display.

I'm looking at the X1300 family, which seems to have what I want for $60. Does this sound right?

Thanks.

Just out of curiouslity... why are you building a system based on a cpu costing $1000+ paired with a $250 motherboard that has the capability to run dual ATI video cards in a CrossFire setup if you have np plans to use it for gaming?

On a side note, you can get about 90% of the performance out of an E6700 at about 50% of the cost of the X6800, and about 80% of the performance out of an E6600 at about 30% of the cost of the X6800... Just figured I'd mention that since your video card choice would seem to indicate that you aren't building a "money is no object" rig.

I picked the motherboard despite its gaming features. If Asus sold a version of the P5W DH without CrossFire support, then I would buy that instead.

I'm a software engineer, and I'm building a development machine. So money is no object, as long as it isn't wasted.

Thanks.
