Hey there,

I wondered if anyone had recommendations on a tablet, less than $280 CAD, for travel/leisure reading of PDFs. I have tonnes of books, documents, course materials on PDF and I wanted something portable for viewing them on. I don't need anything high end as I will be reading (possibly annotating) PDFs. with it. Something with expandable memory I think would be ideal as I would like to avoid space issues in the device directly.

I don't want an iPad or iPad mini as that has more functionality than I need and cost is far too high for what I plan to use the device for.

Appreciate any recommendations.

Are you ok with used? I really like my Nexus 9, which I got for about $199 when HTC had their fire sale to deplete stock.

Not really. I am presently looking at a "new" Samsung Galaxy Tab A, especially after having played with one in a local tech store. the 8 GB of base storage is kind of a concern, but because of the microSD card slot having a capacity of 200 GB max, I think this is going to aleviate that concern.

So far $158 CAD (with Shipping and Handling) plus 2 x 32 GB microSD cards ($23 total) = $184 in total is pretty reasonable.

The Tab A screen is not very nice IMO, but for that price I guess it's decent.
