Easily:

The Deal of the day a couple of months back at buy.com
Ricoh AP204 Color Laser Printer 600x600 dpi
List 1999, regular buy.com price was 1469
one day only they ran it for 799.00
with free shipping (the box weighs about 90 lbs)
on top of that Ricoh had a 100.00 rebate on it making it 699.00

Buy.com tried the usual chicken Sh(* of "Oops, u were too late, we ran out early"
til I showed em proof that I got it less than 10 minutes after they put it up
and that even at the end of the day they still had only sold 55 out of 300
according to their site.

Took a week of wrestling with them and finally they said the reason
my order was cancelled is because ingram micro, their distributor
automatically assumed the selling price was an error because
it was like 600 below their cost...............

Anyhow, after an email to the president of buy.com and his asst.
A kind lady called and said they were next daying it at no extra charge.

Print xmas letters as I type this.

699 buck color laser..........

Yeeeeeesss

The Deal of the year has got to be the 50% off Lechters coupon. No other deal has this amount of play time. Coupon has been good for a week in 3 stores. The dollar amount you can save is only limited to your limit on your credit card. Most deals either you get it or you don't, this is the deal that just keeps on giving. I am sure if the post for this item was read, and added up all the money that has been saved, NO OTHER DEAL COMES CLOSE.

Wishing every one a Happy Holiday Season.

I agree with montanaman, the Lechters coupon was(is) great! I saved $40 on a carseat back massager and $200 on a full set of knives! It's still good... go go go!

This is an easy one actually...you just have to structure Award correctly. In order for something to be 'Deal of the Year', it must meet these criteria:

1. Must NOT be a mistake or error on the part of the merchant.
2. Must able to be redeemed by ANYONE...not just a few people.
3. Must have MINIMAL hassle factor--sending in a rebate and waiting
2 months and having to do pricematching is NOT low hassle.
4. Must REALLY be deal -- going to a lot of trouble to save $10 is NOT
a good deal.
5. Must be something that you learned about mostly by reading these pages.

All that being said, I have participated in a lot of deals here, but I must say the best by far is :

The Lechters 50% off coupon

This was NOT an error, anyone could use it, the store gave you NO Hassle, AND it was GREAT---50% off right off the bat IMMEDIATELY--no waiting for stupid rebates...Best of all, I would have NEVER heard about it if I had not read these pages....BEST DEAL ALL YEAR !!

hands down...the $400 msn deal, followed closely by $400 e-trade deal in california...Luckily I'm from here and made NUMEROUS trips to help my, a-hem, relatives get their own investment accounts

I personally think that the Free shoes were the best :). If you add up all the coupons and free stuff, those were the best deals for me :D.
