on the ESPN mlb page right now, no article yet

The Red Sox dealt their shortstop to the Cubs today in a four-team trade, getting Orlando Cabrera (Expos) and Doug Mientkiewicz (Twins) in return.

also Esteban Loaiza to the yanks... just brok on ESPN

will post link when its avail..

link on espn

I didn't think he disliked Boston enough to be traded. What if this trade counteracts the curse though? Hopefully it does...

Bosox: Cabrera, Mientkiewicz
Expos: Gonzalez + prospects
Cubs: Nomar + minor league pitcher 🙂
Twins: prospects

I wasn't sure if any team could outdo the Mets in horrible trades at this year's deadline, but Theo Epstein and the Red Sox just might have done that.

Are you joking?

As much as I like Nomar you can't say the Red Sox made a bad trade. They get 2 gold glove players, which will greatly help their pitchers (especially Derek Lowe). Although Millar will lose some playing time, the trade is good overall for the Red Sox. Also, Nomar was probably going to leave after the season.

it'll do contreras good - he can't handle the pressure cooker that is NY

loaiza, hopefully he'll be a reliable starter...

Bosox kept Lowe..Epstein just came on ESPNEWS and said the trade should help him a whole lot since he's groundball pitcher.

I tend to argee here. I mean, Nomar was not going to stay. He didn't sign a 4 year 60 mill deal. How much does he think
he'll be getting. Not to mention his heart wasn't there anymore, sitting out game 3 of the Yankees series. Now its never
easy to trade a superstar like Nomar, but the Sox had to do something if they wanted to get to the World Series.

Nomar is damaged goods for now - we got two golden glove players out of the deal, Nomar's performance is/was dwindling, I'm very happy with the deal and think the Sox made a good trade
