nokia 8260 faceplate Q:

I just got an 8260 on ebay and it came with an extra faceplate because the one on it is all chipped and cracked and theres a giant crack on the clear screen plastic. the instruction diagram that comes with faceplate shows you holding a button on the top of the phone which releases the faceplate. I can't find the button. all I see is the little power button and I've tried pressing and pulling on lots of different parts

Not all 8200 series phones have the ability to change faceplates.

how do I put the faceplate on?

It's hard to explain, it's easier to show. Remove the battery/cover and then you just simply lift the faceplate off. It's not too difficult. Keep at it.

8290 has the clip at the top (as shown in diagram)

8260 requires you to remove the battery, then use a T6 (torx) screwdriver on the back in order to remove the faceplate
