I'm running a new 21" Nokia 445xPro with a GeForce GTS2 and can't seem to run any higher than 75Hz refresh rates at 1600X1200. I'm sure that both the monitor and the video card support higher refresh rates. I'm using version 40.72 of the Nvidia detonator drivers, but the standard PnP monitor driver. (because i can't find drivers on the nokia.com site). Anyone know why i'm limited on refresh rates? Do i need a monitor driver?

Nokia makes monitors? They don't seem to ackowledge that they ever did, on their site.

The "PnP" monitor drive may be getting that refresh rate setting from the monitor as the "optimal" setting as well as the max setting. When I was looking at 21 inch monitors for my roommate I noticed that some had a maximum "programmed" resolution as well as supporting higher resolutions. I think you pretty much just need to tell Windows to ignore any of the "preset" resolutions and refresh rates. (The 445xPro seems to support 1800x1400@80Hz.)

In WinXP, you go to the Display Properties, on the Settings tab, click Advanced. On the Monitor tab you then uncheck the item that says to hide modes the monitor can't support. It's similarly located in other versions of Windows.

Keep in mind you could damage/destroy the monitor if you go above the specs. The one actual spec list I could find says 95Hz at 1600x1200.

What operating system are you using? If using Win2k/XP - get Rivatuner - use the refresh rate fix. When you run it, it first creates registry databases; then click on the bottom flashing button when the Rivatuner window comes up; there's an option there that says 60Hz with a screwdriver through it. Click that. In the screen that comes up, click the checkmark icon on the left to select all modes. Then click the double >> icon to set the max refresh rate for all resolutions; click Install, and reboot.
For Win9x, go to Google and search for HZtool.

Yup, or at least they did. According to a cached page on Google (search for nokia sold viewsonic and it should be the first match), "Nokia has sold its monitor business to ViewSonic".
I have a Nokia Multigraph 447XPro, and I really love the quality; guess I'll keep Viewsonic monitors in mind - if they acquired Nokia's monitor technology, I'd certainly hope that they would have the same quality in their current monitors.
