I have seen a video that compares camera quality of iPhone and new Lumia 928. There is lot of differnce between the two videos. Looks like those who will use Lumia 928 would not require a digicam.

So... Canon gonna sue nokia over "eos"?

I don't think it is possible. Nokia has made no official mention of the "EOS," and where "Nokia EOS" has showed up, it is only a codename. The phone will doubtlessly receive some sort of Lumia branding.

As for the Lumia 928's camera being superior to the iPhone 5's, it isn't really a surprise. The 928 has the same sensor at the 920, which is excellent. It outclasses all of the other flagship devices quite handily, though the HTC One does perform modestly well in low light.

Now that I think about it, the Lumia 925/928 may not be impressive announcements in themselves (given they're just carrier variants of the Lumia 920), but the fact Nokia managed to cut the thickness of the phone down without removing the suspended lens is impressive.

One, it's probably an internal project codename, and two, it's not a acronym. Eos the name of a Greek goddess. It would be hard for Canon to sue.

The name fits with their Lumia name and their focus on low-light performance.

I'll be all over the 928, but what sucks is I loose my unlimited data plan in doing so:(

Yeah, that's why I just bought a 822 on ebay. They're pretty cheap. I use mine as a hotspot at home for my computers since the 4G is 10-12MBps and the fastest dsl I can get is 1.5.

whether something trademarked is an acronym or the name of goddess doesn't mean canon can't protect its trademark to the eos name as it relates to cameras and competing items. the test is consumer confusion. and i can pretty much guarantee that if nokia came out with a phonecamera called the 'eos,' consumers pretty much everywhere would think canon was involved.

I don't think it's as recognizable as you think. Prior to this conversation I would say I had only a vague association of "eos" to Canon, but until I looked it up I wasn't even sure if it was a lens or a camera or a product line or what. And I think if you asked Canon users what kind of cameras they had, very few (if any) would include "eos" in their reply.
