Nokia 3300 and Memory Cards

Strictly, Im unsure where to post this in the forums so General Hardware seems the most likely place.

I recently bought a Nokia 3300 and Im finding that 64mb isnt enough to last me travelling to and from University. This is the UK version of the phone which doesnt have the full keypad.

The Memory card thats in there currently doesnt say much. It is roughly 32mm tall by 28mm wide and has one corner cut off.

Ive been looking at some Memory Cards which may fit but Im unsure as to what 256mb card will fit. Some ones Ive looked at include This one, This one and This one.

Any personal experience, informed decision or any questions you want to ask... Im thankful for.

Any ideas? 🙂

Seems like it uses Multi-Media (MMC) cards. Note that devices that uses Secure Digital (SD) cards can also use MMC cards but MMC only devices CANNOT use SD cards. SD cards are cheaper than MMC but MMC cards are still widely available.

SD is a bit thicker, has write protection, and has some anti-piracy stuff (when companies publish software on SD). The Nokia phone has MMC, and I think you can find MMC up to 128MB cards.

Aha, I understand now 🙂

But only up to 128mb in MMC? 🙁

Unfortunately, my last link didnt work but it was a link to this:

TwinMOS MultiMedia Card 256MB
MMC Card

Manufacturer's Part Number: FMM256F
Weight: 0.04 kg

Would this be ok? Im still trying to locate Nokia's support email address so if anyone knows that, it might save some brainwork.

good god, why does your phone need more then 128mb?

<--has nokia 3650

i guess i could carry around realmedia tv episodes or something on a huge card, but would be a pain to reencode stuff to realmedia
