I got the Gigabyte 7N400pro2 board and the northbridge cooler is very loud! I got a TT switch for the HSF because I thought it was louder than the 120's I have in my sonata. However, upon disconnecting the hsf, the noise remains!! I discovered that the northbridge fan (40mm) is just too loud.

So, I ordered this to try and beat the noise. This should bring my sonata down to a tolerable level.

Now to order an antec aria.....

NForce2 motherboards don't need an active northbridge cooler. Remove the fan from your new Swiftech NB heatsink.

I use an Zalman $5 NB heatsink; works better than the stock active cooler.

Zalman works. I replaced the NB-cooler of my father's Abit NF7 with this.
It works, but mind you, installing it is not easy.

These little metal "links" as Zalman calls them are a pain.
Swiftech is easier but 10 times as expensive. If you don't mind fidgeting, get the Zalman. It includes cooling-paste.

They aren't as much of a pain as the NB32j's ones were! :)
Great little cooler, though.
