Noisy, Noisy PS!

I have a very noisy PS.
It never used to be this noisy, I dunno what happened. It's a 230 wat PS, and the thing hums like a SOB at night, I can barely sleep!
(NO, I hate shutting off the computer at night)
Do you thin it's time for an upgrade, or what shall I do?
Thanks in advance!

or if ur cheap, open that suker up and take out the fan. lubricate the fan w/ WD-40. if that don't solve it, replace the fan w/ a similarly sized, ball bearing fan.

if u aren't cheap jus get the enermax.

COol!
I'll have to check out this Enermax, maybe I can get a cheap one on the boards 🙂

And, I can be cheap, but I also can be spend, spend, spend.
I feel like the latter!

In my experience the Enermax 351 Whisper is way overrated in terms of noise. Very high quality ps but its nowhere near as quiet as a Panaflo'd ps. The bottom clear fan is very quiet due to its low rpm. The 80mm output fan is 3pinned into your mobo and relies on the cpu fan suspend function and varies its rpm based on the case temp. Now one would assume that the fan would slow down during browsing and normal windows function -speeding up during games when heat rises. This is not always the case since the only time it actually slows down enough to make a difference is when the computer has been idle for some time, in which case you most likely aren't even there to enjoy the lower noise. The fan is fairly noisy pos, you won't be able to tell the difference between the global brand fan and a standard 32db Sunon fan.

The enermax is definately a high quality ps but its main appeal is bragging rights. Any normal ps with the metal cut out and using a chrome grill will be much quieter than the ps if you're using a panaflo l1. The adda low noise 80mm is similar to the panaflo, the adda is ball bearing so you can hear a distinct humming noise if you put the fan next to your ear.
