I had some new people move in on the floor below me. They hang out on the porch every night and are really loud. They stay up til around 3 am and dont get any quieter as the night goes on. I dont care when its just me here, but when my son is here he wakes up really tired and I am sure its because of these asshats.

So my question is should I be a prude and call the office on Monday, call the cops, or just start chucking empty bottles off my balcony at these asshats?

I'd go down and talk to them and explain about your son. If they are nice people they will be more quiet. Some people don't realise how loud they are.

When you mean they are loud what are they exacty doing? Just talking loudly or laughing loudly? Noisey sex?

If they don't quiet down then I would call the office or who ever is in charge on their ass. You did speak to them about it.

Noisey workmen working a house away wakes me up at 9am and i was NOT HAPPY. Was rather pissed off at them but I think the legal time is about 8:30am to start building work here in England so not much I could do :(.

We get bad apples in here every once in a while like them, and I have never complained to the office before...but this is every stinkin night

mostly just talking and laughing...then around midnight they will start yelling and arguing. You can always tell when they start getting buzzed because they start yelling at each other.

I wouldn't talk to them - because then if you do that, and THEN end up having to go to the office and complain they'll know who did it. It's not fun to wake up to "Fvck you" shaving creamed on the door to your apartment, and if these are the type of people you described (not able to be reasoned with easily) then I wouldn't put it past them.

Go to the office and complain - that's what I'd do.

Man you have a kid ring them into the office.

If they are not the sort of people to be talked to then ring them in to the office. Some people are nasty and might do something to your car so better to leave anything out like that.

Every night is not on for anyone. Once every now and then isn't so bad if its only arguing......

It probably won't hurt to try though. If you decide to call the cops without even mentioning something to them they might just get pissed. In which case they'll probably get louder.

thanks for the advice guys, I am going to talk to the manager on Monday and see what can be done. I have had my share of parties and loud nights, but every night is getting out of hand.

Chances are, when they got the apartment they made an agreement that they have to respect the other neighbors through various terms blah blah blah...

I would consider that their only warning, and just tell the manager as you said you plan to do.

It's your home too, you shouldn't have to be kind about making it a decent place to live, and although no one likes a nazi manager, it should have been their job to keep tabs on things in the first place.

Fvck 'em...

They know nothing of respect for other people. They are selfish and childish.

Call the office and if it persists...call the cops!

yeah...the manager doesnt live here so she doesnt know what goes on after 5:30pm

Our little rule book pretty much says that you arent supposed to make any noises that can disturb your neighbors, especially before of after dark.

I really hate being the nasty neighbor, but these kids are out of hand

If you call the manager instead of talking to them, when they finally figure out that it's you, they'll doubly think you're a jerk. I think my upstairs neighbor is an asshole sometimes, but I certainly respect him because he comes downstairs to ask me to quiet down instead of crying to the landlady. They probably don't have any idea they are pissing you off.

Well, hanging out on the porch and getting drunk and loud until 3am is not reasonable in ANYBODY's book, so I would fvck them over good and tell the manager. They have no consideration for you and probably would not give 2 sh|ts if you did try to talk to them. More than likely they would just get louder and be more disruptive, if anything. Call the cops, the manager, or drop cinder blocks on their heads.

they stay outside, in the middle of summer, when everyone's windows are open, yelling, screaming and laughing, until 3 am...every GDMF night.....

no...they have no idea that the neighbors might mind

*we have 96 apartments in my building (its a high rise), I am aware of my neighbors....they are asshats, plain and simple

Well I'm glad you're a mind reader. I've got news for you: everytime I've disturbed my neighbors, I have never had a clue that they could hear me, or that I was disturbing them if they could until either they came down and told me or complained to the manager.

I'm a lot more lenient to the ones that knock on my door - I'll put up or respectfully ask them to quiet down. The ones that call the landlady get the same treatment right back....everytime they make the slightest peep.

Every night for how long? You said they just moved in. You seem to think they are intentionally doing this just to be jerks, but that's pretty unlikely.
