Noisy fan

A month ago, I noticed the fan on my 6800 was making a dodgy vibration noise. If I gave the side of computer a little knock, it would stop then come back a few seconds later. If I left it, then the noise would gradually fade out. Annoying, but it didn't happen that often, I got used to leaving it alone.

Now it's worse, like every few hours it'll start making the dodgy noise and it takes longer to stop. I had to open the machine up to put an extra HD in so I removed the card and checked it out at the same time. I figure the fan is somehow going off balance, there were no wires getting in the way of it and no dustballs. No idea how to resolve this, should I RMA?

Btw, it's got an Arctic Cooling fan. I thought about taking the blue surround bit off and seeing if I could spot anything amiss. Didn't want to do that though if I should be sending it back...

Edit: I've had the card since September.

That noise you are hearing is probably not vibration, it's more likely the ball bearings starting to go bad slowly in the fan. It'll usually get worse (noisy) over time until it finally seizes someday. The only fix for that is to RMA the card, or purchase an aftermarket cooler such as an NV Silencer or equavalent.

Yep, the fan is probably about to die on you. You might try putting a drop of oil on it and seeing if it helps any.
