I use one one an Abit KT7A. The cap layout looks similar even though the cpu on the Dragon K7V in 90 degrees different. I have an old style with the silver disk screwed to the bottom of the heatsink. The latest design has the silver disk inset into the heatsink, so the hsf sits a little lower. I would make sure you have enough room on the Dragon to get the clip on, it is real strong and those memory slots are real close. I have to remove my power supply and use 2 screwdrivers to safely remove the Silverado, putting it on is slightly easier.
Using a hsf like the Alpha PAL8045 with posts that go through mb would make more sense with the Dragon. Slapping a 80mm low noise fan on the Alpha would cool just as good and be just as quiet, and probably cheaper too.
