The head of our lab travels a lot on airplanes and using the built in mic on the tape recorders we have picks up WAY too much background noise and our software can't even recognize someone is talking. So we are looking into noise cancelling microphone options and I was curious if anyone knew anything about any of these products? I want to pick a good mic, but there dont seem to be very many reviews covering high noise environments. Thanks in advance guys!

If you want to invest in a high quality headset with a mic people seem to like the Sennheiser PC150's. You can go on the cheap with Plantronics .Audio 90's but they seem to be prone to breaking.

I use a Logitec Desktop USB microphone for voice commands on my pc and it's worked well so far.

A directional microphone will help a bit. I'm not sure if some can attach to your throat. Find out what the military uses in its jet aircraft?
