damn so I pried off the windows key and put it aside (I hate hitting on it while playing games)

and guess what? that thing got sucked while I was vacuuming..

oh well its a POS dell keyboard anyways

lol.

your the first person i've heard of that takes their window key off while playing games 😉

You won't miss it once you get used to ctrl-esc. I haven't had a windows key on my keyboard at home for over 3 years...

edit: or my IBM laptop for 2 years (IBMs don't have a windows key).

Instead of removing it, why don't you just put something under it so if you hit it it doesn't press down? 😕

I used to be this way, NEVER used the windows key, but there is so much you can do with it...
Win+F
Win+D
Win+E
Win+L

I use those multiple times a day each.

That's what I was going to say. Can't use Ctrl+Esc+D and things like that. I think Win+D or Win+E is the most used shortcut I use.

WTF is Win+L? Doesn't do anything for me...

EDIT: Ah it locks the screen. XP Only and I'm on 2k at work.

But I'm crippled at work too with my IBM, where I would use those the most. 🙁

There's always the right hand windows key, I'm assuming he just removed the left on for WASD controls.

If you hate hitting the windows key durning games you could always kill explorer.exe and leave a console window open to restart explorer. (or to kill explorer go to start->shut down hold down alt+ctrl+shift+esc and hit cancel, that kills explorer.exe)

If you need to switch out of a game you can always alt+tab.

Call Microshaft if you are a registered user then they will kill your old one and issue a new serial number for you.

If you didn't buy it and spaced out and erased your Iso and rar's pretend you are the unibomber and they will give you another key also 😉
