nod32 - slow windows start up

After windows boots, nothing is responsive for 2-3 minutes until NOD32 boots up. I found some results on google (changing to static IP) but I need DHCP so is there another remedy for this?

Sorry NOD32 as in the antivirus program?

Can you uninstall it and try AVG (free and best around) and try if you are still getting that issue? Or in the options... set it to NOT perform a start-up scan/check for updates etc. From what I read quickly online.... it seems many have the exact same issue with this app and yes it seems to be waiting for an IP to be assigned before it does anything.

Thus setting static IP works but you insist on DHCP. Again in the options try to disable all start-up scans or if not others are simply switching to another Antivirus app.

Maybe someone else can chime in.
