NOD 32 or Symantec Corporate?

Way back in the day I used Norton AntiVirus. I thought it was okay, until I realized how much zippier my system was before I had it installed. Then I ditched it and went for something lighter, AVG. I stuck with that for awhile until I realized that it had been missing some viruses and read about its low detection rates. So I bought Kaspersky after reading about it being the best. This was okay for awhile until I started getting annoyed with it doing too many scans when I didn't want it to, even after turning down its auto-protection settings. So after my subscription ended with them I looked for something that was both light and had very high detection rates, and I chose NOD32. I've been using it happily on my desktop for sometime now.

However, I recently got my Tablet PC which has Symantec Corporate 10.0.1.1000 pre-installed, and I really like it. I never used Corporate before and I certainly didn't expect it to be so light and simple. So now I'm considering going to this for my desktop when my NOD32 runs out.

For anyone who's used both, which do you prefer?

I've used both, and prefer SAV10. It has a lot of features, and is definitely more system-resource-intensive than NOD32, but it also has a very good detection rate.

Well according to av-comparatives they're nearly identical in detection rate, so to me either is acceptable in that regard. But you say SAV10 definitely uses a good bit more memory?

I came from Norton products and have used both the SAV CE and NOD32. I am currently using NOD32 and will probably never change--couldn't be happier.

i am sitting on this for a long time already - reading threads and av comapratives etc.

I had 'em all through, from AVG to KAV, NOD32 to Panda to NAV/SAV.

Settled with Antivir and had this running for about 5 months...but then really got annoyed by the rel. low detection rate (esp. Win32 viruses) and now i am gladly running NOD32 again.

I think NOD32 has the best mix of detection ratio and use of system-resources. I am just kind of turned off by the higher resources NAV/SAV uses.

Perfectly fine with NOD32 right now.
