Many Google searches on how to install this in Windows 7 are still leaving me with no answers.

I see some people get it to install but it crashes, or there are problems displaying, etc.

My problem is I can't even get it to install.

I click the setup.exe, and the setupn.exe process just sits in memory after I click Install on the Nocturne screen that comes up. The black screen vanishes and nothing happens.

I would prefer to be able to do this from W7 as I wanted to use other applications in W7 with this and not install VMWare with 98/XP.

I am using W7 x64 Pro.

I have it installed on my PC. I'll try it when I get home and let you know. If I remember correctly, I did have some problems with it, but can't remember exactly what it was.

Usually when I have a problem installing an older game on a newer OS I install it inside an XP VM and then move the game over to the host OS. After that I export the registry entries from the VM and import them to the host OS.

I wound up installing xp 64 and 2k on vm's and they went in. The xp64 must have taken like 2-5 minutes before it actually started to install. I thought it had hung up and failed like w7 but then it suddenly started going.

2k is listed on the manual as a supported OS. It went right away.

I have yet to actually test them though.

Bumping this thread. Tried out the game recently. The game plays OK in Windows 7 x64. I have really long load times for some reason though. Takes two minutes to start the game and a few minutes to load any level. Not sure why.

You are lucky to even get it installed.
I had no luck so w2k/xp inVMware player was the only way.
I will try w8.

Gog.com has a Nocturne petition somewhere to add your vote to fix it.
