So now that i have my new system built im considering upgrading the stock fans on my heatsink. They are quiet which is good and i will probably re-install them in the winter but im fighting 30-35c ambients in the summer so am looking for some that move some more air to keep my temps under 80c under load. I was looking at this one:

Delta 120MMX38MM Fan Dual Ball Bearing 3900RPM 148.34CFM 51DBA 4PIN PWM

It seems like that would work well since its PWM and i have 2 PWM headers that asus tell me can handle 2 amps each(these deltas are 1.5amps) and can spin at slower/quieter speeds when CPU is not ramped up and then kick into earsplitting 3900rpm only when needed. I have used delta in the past and was impressed with there quality and ability to move alot of air with high static pressure.

As you can imagine by my fan selection sound is not so much of an issue im focused on cooling ability.

I would replace the stock 120mm with one of these and add another to the other end in push/pull, i would remove the center 140mm fan and customize a shroud to go around the gap in the middle of the heatsink. Unless someon can suggest a 140mm fan that will fit in there thats also around 150CFM, would have to find a way to put it on a fan controller though so it could change speeds with the 2 PWM fans.

I realize they are 38mm and have no issues customizing a mounting method for them. I would need to remove my top 140mm case fan and would duct the top 120mm fan out the hole for the 140mm in my antec 300 case so hot air from CPU would be directly ducted outside the case.

Any suggestions?

18 views and no response, let me guess you all think i am insane for wanting to put 2 delta's on my heatsink. I must admit when the thought first came to me it was followed by a mental image of my computer taking flight across the room.
