Edit: Many users in this forum have had bad experience with this company. I have previously used BigZoo, a company that offered very competitive rate and had excellent customer support, but they are no longer in calling card business.

For those of you who have had positive experience with a calling card or another please respond with the link to the websites.

The website isn't working for me. I accidentally typed nobelcom.com and that seems to have worked, is that the correct site?

This topic comes up every month or so.

I think that Nobel is pretty well known to be legit. The other popular site is http://www.onesuite.com/.

People also use to use Bigzoo.com, but the competition got to be too much and Bigzoo decided to get out of the game at the beginning of the year.

Personally, I use phone cards from http://www.firstphonecard.com/. Not as convenient because most of the numbers aren't "rechargeable", so the number changes when the card runs out... but I program the number into my cell and don't have to dial anything... and a $20 card will last me three weeks calling Taiwanese mobile phones (maybe two months if I only call a land lines).

Calling overseas is cheap... because there's tons of options. At some point, it's so cheap that you begin to look for better reception and stuff like that. Try stuff out and see what you like.

for international phone cards, you can get very good cards at gasoline stations. There is an STI card and I call Germany for about $.03/minute.

Anyhow, this is still good for hose of you without cars:)

Aside from a possible connection fee and more than one minute rounding, one should also be aware of this tax thing.

It use to be that none of the cards at the Web site I buy from had tax, and then they began adding it to certain cards sometime last year. I asked the vendor what it means, and they told me that a $0.10 per minute card with a 15% tax is actually $0.115 per minute.

I generally avoid cards with a "tax" on them.

The cheapest, cheapest, cheapest international phone card is right now on ebay. All country rates are less than 1¢/min because the $5 phone card is on sale for 99¢. Only one phone number/one email address/one ebay ID/etc per purchase. Since it is an ebay item, I can't list it here. Just search for "international calling phone card" and you will see the list, sold by the same person from qwest (I guess).

Excellent connection and sound quality.

No connection fee, 1 min rounding, etc, etc.

2+ hours talking time to Africa for 99¢, you can't beat it!!!

TO PLACE A CALL, DIAL

1-734-887-3737 (use this if calling from a cell phone or any phone with free
nationwide long distance, such as free nights, weekends, etc)
or
1-877-660-0661 (use this toll free number if calling from a phone without
free long distance--this is 1.5 cents more per minute)

I use toll free number and I get 2+ hours calling time to Africa.
