It looks like there are several of them for sale on e-bay.

I love my Nad AV 316. To bad the sound of their "newest" stuff isn't up to the same quality.

You may be able to get it repaired.

However in my experience once an amp has problems it can never be fully repaired. Sounds like you have a failing output transistor, but I'm not a repair guy.

-edit- and I thought this thread was gonna be about you sitting on your NAD. man that sucks.

I'm looking at a few sites now that should help me out, but if anybody knows of any advice it would be much apprecaited.

I do not want to give this amp up, the sounds it produces are so beautiful.
Current limiting resistors make this sound as they decay / die. They are in the power supply. You'll need schematics to properly identify them. or an old school electronics tech.

Couple quick things you can do...

1) with stereo on, violently/quickly turn volume knob between 7 oclock and 2 o'clock. about 20 times or more
2) replace speaker wires

It's just a guess, but a bad pot (volume) could be your problem or possibly cables. If not then it is something internal.

I really love the old NAD stuff. As well as Sansui (sp?)

-edit- After checking ebay, I even think at one time I had one of those. worth saving.

I'll try it out, but I really think that it's something internal.
