Current limiting resistors make this sound as they decay / die. They are in the power supply. You'll need schematics to properly identify them. or an old school electronics tech.Originally posted by: tweakmm
I have been the proud owner of a NAD 3020 for several years now and it has served me faithfully even being over 30 years old(Yes, I intentionally bought a 30 year old amp.)
I knew what I was getting into buying such an old piece of equipment and feared this day would come, and come it has
The audio on the right channel gets scratchy and starts cutting in and out.
I'm looking at a few sites now that should help me out, but if anybody knows of any advice it would be much apprecaited.
I do not want to give this amp up, the sounds it produces are so beautiful.

that place is gold.
I'll try it out, but I really think that it's something internal.Originally posted by: spidey07
Couple quick things you can do...
1) with stereo on, violently/quickly turn volume knob between 7 oclock and 2 o'clock. about 20 times or more
2) replace speaker wires
It's just a guess, but a bad pot (volume) could be your problem or possibly cables. If not then it is something internal.
I really love the old NAD stuff. As well as Sansui (sp?)
