No weapons, no google 8-(

Well curse it all!!! Flipping google is refusing to allow ads to anyone who sells any type of weapons. Doesn't matter if you're a Sherriff looking for a new local retailer or a terrorist, you'll have to go somewhere else.

I liked google too, and I HATE that now I have to use something else because they're STUPID!!!!!!!

Anyway, here's a link to the story and the online petition anti-link, not that it will help much. 8-(

Don't they have the right to choose what gets advertised on THEIR website? And it's not like you can't use Google to locate gun-retailers.

Sure they do, but I have a right to use someone else because of it.

The point is that they're definately being sticklers for it now (if they weren't before) and honest people aren't able to use their service because of google's ignorant paranoia and sheepism.

But they can use the service! Only thing that you don't get are the gun-ads. The search-engine works as usual.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But I did try it and it seemed to work.

Of course you do! But to my knowledge, you just don't get gun-related ads. You can still use the search-engine to locate gun-retailers. Only thing missing are the ads. Are those ads really that important?

So your problem with google is just that they wont allow the advertisments of guns? With whats going on in this world (i.e columbin, World Trade Center, GangBangers/driveby, etc.) i really have no problem with this. Google is just trying not to ADVERTISE the use/sale of weapons. You can still search for gun related stuff, but they just wont promote it. Admitted it might be a bit of "business racisim", but the times are changing and too much violence goes on in the world.

What makes you think I'm in the NRA? I tend to not get along well with political groups, especially those that use money to further their own private little goals that no one is privy to.

And, thank you for the info, as I'll now boycott them as well...I WILL NOT use, endorse, or allow to stand without negative opposition, ANY group which denies the basic principles this country was founded on. As far as I'm concerned every company that does this is INTENTIONALLY TRYING TO MURDER MY FAMILY by increasing distrust in private firearm ownership, thereby increasing the likelyhood that they will not be allowed to defend themselves against unjust attack. It's always small at first, and then, over time, we are slaves to the state.

I read here how everyone was so up in arms against any group that MIGHT not have pro-American ends after 9/11...well, here they are. And instead of rallying against them most will laugh at the situation, claim we who stand on our morals are insane, and let their freedoms be sold out to popular social dogma and ignorance. Bravo. And no one asked for ads for guns, but they won't carry any ads to anyplace that deals in any weapons. Like, if they sold camping gear and hunting rifles, and wanted to advertise tents, they couldn't.

Except that Google is a PRIVATE company. Using the Bill of Rights as a basis for objection towards their policy is spurious, because the BoR applies to the GOVERNMENT making laws which abridge your rights. As Google is a privately owned company, they are not subject to the Bill of Rights.

You have, of course, every right to boycott them for their policies, and I applaud your exercising of your right. But don't demonize them simply because they don't agree with your ideas; that makes you as bad as you perceive them to be.

And that foolish article comparing gun ads to porn is so stupid. Except for that one guy who suffiocated in a stripper's breats*, I don't know of any pron that has killed anyone.

Ooo the little boys are gonna boycott google. Boycotting Yahoo too? Yahoo uses the google search engine. Boycotting every other website that uses google? How are you going to search when google is the ONLY search engine? Because all the others will either end up bankrupt or out of business, it's just a matter of time.
