So you are saying that past Democrat candidates have not tried to win the EC? I must have misunderstood.

No Democrat has ever won the EC w/o winning the popular vote & probably never will.

Trying to win & going all out big data to win the EC are two very different things.
I think everyone running for President wants a popular vote win & an EC win.
If EC wins become the new thing people will be pissed.

Both candidates have their base states and really are competing for swing states. So winning the EC is nothing new and campaign strategies reflect that.

What makes you think we have an election anyways?

The results are predetermined before the candidates are even revealed.

That said, I hope Trump doesn't win. I thought his hat was MAGA, not MIGA.
