No way I'm doing that.

Toronto CN Tower edgewalk.

On August 1, 2011, the CN Tower opened the EdgeWalk, an amusement in which thrill-seekers can walk on and around the roof of the main pod of the tower at 356 m (1,168.0 ft), which is directly above the 360 Restaurant.] It is the world's highest full-circle, hands-free walk. Visitors are tethered to an overhead rail system and walk around the edge of the CN Tower's main pod above the 360 Restaurant on a 1.5 m (4.9 ft) metal floor. The attraction is closed throughout the winter season and during periods of electrical storms and high winds.

They've got not one but, two separate belay lines. Taking that walk is safer than crossing the street (no cars).

Fuck no. I saw guys walking around outside the space needle setting up the fireworks for new years, that was bad enough.

I'm not terribly scared of heights so I'd be game, but I would still be a touch anxious. I'm no stranger to working at heights with a harness and SRL, granted only 10 stories up but obviously that's nothing to scoff over either.

I would love to do that, I've climbed the CN Tower 3 times (stairs) 112 stories for the WWF with my wife years ago. The best was looking out the windows the whole time in the stair well. This would be awesome and such a rush.

Nope. Anytime I look over an edge like that, a giant invisible hand reaches up and tried to pull me over.
I'm fine on a mountain, or in any size plane/helicopter. But something about being on an edge triggers some kind of vertigo.

I can't go for that. No can do.

Only 10 stories, certainly nothing to scoff at because if you do fall, you ain't walking away unless you fall into the first ever sidewalk made entirely of marshmallows. And it better be a very deep marshmallow sidewalk.

I've been 100+ floors up. When I look down, I'm ok. Palms a little sweaty but ok. When I look up I get vertigo. Mostly because I lose sight of the thing I'm standing on and that bothers me for some reason. So I never understood the whole "don't look down!" phrase everyone says when they talk about being at great heights. For me it's "don't look up!"

I've skydived before, but I'll never bungee jump. I don't know... once you get up higher, the altitude becomes less of an issue.

Because I rappel and use my own equipment, I know what they probably have into their equipment... I would inspect all the hardware first before I would 'walk the plank' though...

Serious High Pucker Factor Mission, there...

Not sure what I'd think of that. I can generally climb up and down without issue. If I'm on something regular, and engineered, and can hold on with my hands, I'm good. Walking laterally on steel really flips me out, and I've had some tense times on structures. My eyes will see the ground and the beam at the same time, and the images move at different speeds, and it throws my balance off. Add to that, nothing good to hold on to, and I feel like I have no control. It's gotten worse as I've aged.

Seems kinda weak to me. So you just lean out a bit over that ledge? I don't get it. I hope that doesn't cost money.

Visited the CN tower a couple of months ago. It's awesome and i'm totally going back once the weather's warmer to do the edge walk. Fuck doing it in cold weather. That's murder.

I'm sure it costs a shit-ton (relatively speaking).

Yep, just looked it up. $175 Canadian

Includes: EdgeWalk + Complimentary Tower Experience + SkyPod
(LookOut + Glass Floor + SkyPod + Movie + Motion Theatre Ride*)

Dunno what the value of the rest of that is...

I didn't even like standing on the glass floor when we were up there; no way I was going to walk outside the thing.

Bleh... at least make it more challenging. Shrink that walk down to 1 foot. 5 feet? You can practically sleep on that...
