Water main break down the block. Crews are working on it for a couple of hours already, but still no water here. Which means I can't fill my humidifier to combat this forced air heating. :(

you don't have 2 gallons of water in the fridge/ freezer for emergencies?

Make a note, save some old milk jugs/orange juice jugs, rinse out well,
fill with water and keep in the fridge/and or freezer.

Be Prepared. ;)

Just take some water out of your toilet (the tank, not the bowl). It's clean enough for a humidifier.

LOL, no.
It's 3 AM and there's a jackhammer going outside the window.
Cut me some slack on the reading comprehension.

Dont you have some water left in your geyser still? Otherwsie if you are really thirsty, you can go to the garden and suck on the hosepipe.
