No volume on rear output on Aureal SQ2500

When I play normal music on my sound card the front speakers are fine but there's no volume on the back speakers....
When I run the A3D demos, the front speakers sound normal but the rear speakers are very faint....
Is something wrong with the card?
Any way to bump up the volume on the rear channels? (I've tried the volume applet 🙂)

Thanks.

I would guess it is your speakers or speaker cables that's causing the problem. Are you able to try them on another system?

I don't think it's the speakers or cables.....
When I switch the front and rear speaker output cables the situation gets reversed....the fronts are faint or muted and the rears sound fine...
I'm almost positive it's the rear channel output on the card that's messed up...
I just don't know what to do about it...
The vendor and support sites are down....(didn't Aureal go out of business?)

Thanks.

Yep, Aureal went to SoundCardHeaven.

You don't state what your OS is or if you have a Intel or AMD box. Also, did you just install this card or has it been working OK until now?

There's a great site for Aureal card owners with many FAQ. Plus it has a forum where you can read about other's problems or ask about yours.

bub: Running Win2k on a Celeron 433...
I just switched from a 2 to a 4 speaker setup, that's why I didn't notice the rear speaker problem and why I didn't notice anything wrong with the card...
I'll try VoS and see if I can turn up anything...

Thanks.
