No Video

i'm having a problem that is causing me to pull my hair out and i can't figure out what else to do short of throwing the entire pc out the friggin window.

recently, i've been experiencing problems such as lock-ups (mostly during unreal tournament), random reboots (the machine just reboots by itself) and when it comes back up i don't have any video. i have a geforce 4 agp card, so i took it out and threw in my trusty voodoo3 pci, and i was able to get some video for a short period of time, before that crapped out as well.

when i say no video, all i have is a black screen. i don't see the bios when the machine is booting up. it has power, my fans are spinning, but my monitor stays black.

i've swapped out memory with a brand new stick, and took my geforce over to a friends house and it worked on his machine flawlessly.

i don't know what this is, other than my motherboard going bad so i was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas that you could toss me before i take this piece of funk back up to the store.

my specs are:
MSI SiS 645DX Chipset mainboard
Pentium 4 2.0ghz processor
256mb Mushkin DDR Ram
GeForce4 MX AGP
WD 80gb HDD / WD 15gb HDD

any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
