I just built a new computer with a friends help and the first day we tried it he brought his monitor because I haven't received mine from NewEgg yet. The computer gave us POST beep and successfully entered into the BIOS using his monitor through the HDMI. That was 5 days ago, today I got my monitor and when I went ahead and plugged it to the DVI on the back of the case (MoBo) and powered on the monitor I got an error saying "No VGA detected" and the monitor just shut down. So I went ahead and tried the DVI, and got the same message. So I gave it another try using the VGA adapter and I plugged it to my GTX 680 instead but I still got the same message. I don't have an HDMI cable but I know that it works HDMI works because we tried it the first day, but its not working with VGA or DVI. I even tried 2 different monitors an HP monitor and my Asus monitor that came in today and both didn't recognize any signal. So bottom line I tried VGA, DVI to mother board or GPU and never got a signal. Does it smell like I might have to RMA my Asus P8Z77 V-LK MoBo?:'(

Your post is confusing.
I got my monitor and when I went ahead and plugged it to the DVI on the back of the case (MoBo) and powered on the monitor I got an error saying "No VGA detected"
This is probably by design. The monitor defaults to VGA when first turned on, and if the machine is already turned on, the monitor doesn't get a signal telling it what to do. Powering up the machine after turning on the monitor allows the monitor to be told what kind of signal it's getting. Otherwise, you need to manually switch from VGA to Digital.
So I went ahead and tried the DVI, and got the same message.
That would mean the monitor is defective. It should have told you that there's no digital signal...but it's obviously stuck on VGA.

Power down everything. Hook up the DVI cable. Power up the monitor, manually verify input is set to digital, then power up the machine. If you still get the wrong feedback from the monitor, that's the problem...probably nothing wrong with the mobo, since it does work with HDMI (which is the same as DVI, and supplied with the same video processing).

BTW, you don't plan to use this monitor for gaming, do you?

OK, just re-read it again (like I said...confusing)

So you have a GTX680, and you plugged into the DVI port on the mobo and got nothing...that's by design. All mobo video-out ports are auto-disabled when you install a dedicated card.

How can I set it manually From DVI To digital? As soon as I turn on the monitor, Regardless if the DVI it's plugged in or not, I get the same message " VGA no signal" even when the DVI cables plugged in.The thing is That I tried With 2 monitors And both times I couldn't get The signal. Sucks cos I have to write this on my phone

Correctly stated, "How can I set it manually from VGA to digital?" There is a row of buttons on the underneath edge of the monitor...read the manual to find out which button cycles thru inputs.

Also be sure the cable isn't connected to the mobo...that output is disabled.

1. Make sure you are connecting to the video card ports (slot) not the motherboard video out ports.

2. Power on monitor, power on computer.

3. Find the source select or input select button on the monitor and press it until the monitor is set to the right port.

Amazing how simple it was thank you very much!

You're probably talking about Trace Free (basically an LCD overdrive setting). Disabling it will make the monitor not "2ms" anymore, but it won't be worse than any other cheap TN panel.

I did notice some of the ghosting, but I can live with that for now. I'm having another issue which am sure is a simple fix, but I just can't seem to find how to do it. I tried messing around with the screen resolution but I can't seem to fix it. My friend suggested that is because the VGA cable?

Hook it up to a TV with HDMI if that is working and look at the BIOS. I dont know why it would not work via VGA/DVI. Maybe look at the bios or try using the lowest setting on you video card/ Integrated video. I have seen some video cards stet to black letters on a black background. Or try safe mode with video support and change the settings.

The edge of the screen being cut off can often be fixed by pressing another button on the monitor :)

(Re-sync or re-scan or something like that)

Pro-tip: throw away the VGA cable. Never be tempted to connect it again.

With DVI, Windows should detect the native resolution of your monitor and auto-adjust it for you. If not, don't "mess" with the screen resolution...set to the native rez manually. If the edge cut-off is still there, Dave is correct...find that button.

The GHOSTING is horrendous! I might have to RMA this big boy D:
I will try DVI, I won't get my HDMI from NewEgg until Friday.

Did you disable Trace Free and/or Overdrive settings?
I don't know how to access the hidden menu. There is a video on YouTube saying how to do it but I couldn't get it to work. Being playing a couple of games and the Ghosting is all I notice, ugh:'(
I can't even get the d____ thing to recognize DVI, tried both MoBo and GPU with no avail. So I'm still using VGA, but that is the least of my worries at this moment. I might RMA, seeing several people with the same issue on NewEgg. I want something that works right out the box with no annoying issues like this. Is not what you expect when you pay $180

First, sit back and take a deep breath. Maybe go outside and take a walk to clear your head. :)

Second, download the manual and read it. It explains everything about the monitor, including how to operate the OSD.

Then, to disable/enable overdrive:

1. Power off monitor.

2. Hold down Menu Button + Power for 7 seconds. Then let off for a few seconds and hold down the Menu Button until you see the special/hidden blue menu on the far left of the monitor.

3. Use the normal up/down navigation keys to get to OD, then turn that off and exit the menu.

Unfortunately, for that size monitor from that manufacturer, that's exactly what you should expect.

Old saying: you get what you pay for.

Unbelievable! I'm keeping this bad boy (No I'm not having mood swings Lol)
So all my problems above have being resolved by using the HDMI that arrived today in the mail. I now have 0 ghosting and the screen is centered as it should.

Glad you're happy! Now you know why VGA is horrible and should just go away already. :)

Well, from a victory to a disappointment. A new issue has risen and being the fact that I have 2 weeks left to RMA, I'm thinking is my best option. Monitor is giving me Screen Tearing, I enabled V-sync on the Nvidia Control Panel and even tinkered a little with the Triple Buffering Option later on but neither worked. I tried setting V-Sync on the game I'm playing but still the tearing is present and quiet annoying:twisted:. I even noticed a dead pixel on my monitor already! :|
Can you guys please recommend the best Monitor between 23" 24" that I can get for $200? Its mainly for gaming guys.
Oh great knowledgeable ones.():)

Tearing is not a monitor issue, any (60 Hz) monitor will show the same effects. Most likely, Vsync just wasn't properly engaged.

To check to see if Vsync is working, download FRAPS and run it. If you ever see a framerate over 60, that means that Vsync isn't working properly. If the framerate shows as 60 and you still see "tearing", that probably means that what you're describing as "tearing" is really something else.
