No video signal, or mobo beep, after replacement CPU install

The fan on my buddy's heatsink failed without him realizing it a while back, and he ran it for about a month continuously before performance started getting worse and worse and he called me in.

Apparently by then it was starting up with random error codes, most programs wouldn't open, and when left idle long enough for the monitors to go into power save mode it wouldn't wake up.

I installed a new CPU/fan but, for some reason, now neither of the monitors are firing up and the mobo speaker is not giving the courtesy beep (although my friend can't recall if the speaker was working before.)

Is is new mobo time, or what do you guys think the diagnostic is?

Thanks in advance,

Josh

Try clearing the CMOS. But i doubt that will fix the problem. The earlier erros may have been from an burned out CPU but the burned out CPU may have damaged the motherboard as well. You won't know for sure till you try another board.
