This is very strange but it must be something simple and I'm just too tired to see it.

I finished some upgrades on my grandson's system and everything was working great. (It's a K6-2 400 @ 550MHz, Amptron mobo (with onboard SiS video), 192MB RAM and WinME.

I pulled the 64MB stick from his system to use temporarily on another one I'm building. I'm working with a socket 7 mobo, K6/300 CPU and PCI Savage4. Anyway, I assembled everything in the case and fired it up. I heard the HDD spin up and the RAM count off but there was no video signal. I tried a few things like reseating the RAM and pulling IDE cables but still no video. So, I pulled everything from the case and booted with just the CPU, RAM and video card on the mobo. No video. I tried another monitor. Still no video.

I put that system aside and hooked up my grandson's system again. (I put the extra DIMM back in it). Now there's no video on that!?!?!? I tried a total of 3 monitors on that system and none pulled a signal.

Like I said, there's probably something right there in front of me and I'm just too tired to see it. Hope there's someone out there who's more awake than I am....

You might want to pull that 64Mb dimm back out of the system that did fire up and try it again.
somehow that 64Mb dimm you pulled may have went out somehow.

only thing i can think of at the moment.

Post the results if you havn't tried it allready.

Shawn: Thanks for pointing me in the right direction: my grandson's system is up and running again. Both pieces of RAM are still okay but I didn't seat them properly. (I must have been more tired than I thought! :()
