No video output

Hi I have a problem.

Motherboard is Biostar M7VKD V1.1
CPU is Athlon 1.2 266 fsb
Memory is Kingston pc133 sdram
Case is Êîðïóñ V-Tech 2107KL 300 Watt
Video cards are: PCI Voodoo Rush and PCI Velocity 128, AGP Voodoo3

Yesterday I could not get video, then after fiddling with the power supply I got successful video output and got into the BIOS. After installing hard drive, cdrom, floppy, I noticed the FSB jumpers. I changed the jumpers to match 133 fsb, not knowing if I needed to do it. After I did that, video disappeared. Everything still powers on but no video. I've got nothing in but the video card, ram, cpu and still nothing. Reseated everything, also tried multiple jumper configurations for the CPU, cleared CMOS multiple times. Does this look like a defective board? I'm wondering if the board will just magically start outputting video as it did again but so far no good on any attempts today. Suggestions, anyone have similar experiences?

In case you haven't thought of it, if you have another monitor around, try it. You may just have a defective cable.

Good luck. :)

BTW -- WTF is the name of that case? (Êîðïóñ)

Haha, sorry, that was a cut and paste, technically it's "Kopnyc" Yeah I've tried a couple monitors with no success. And as you can see 3 video cards. I'm not regretting I bought from a local vendor because if I can't get it working by Monday I'm going back there.

Frustrating. It just gave me video about 2 minutes ago. I got the POST and tried to get into setup but no response from the keyboard. After powering off and powering on, no video yet again. This sound like a faulty power supply?

If other things are working, then the power supply is putting out all voltages. If you have a volt meter, measure the supplies at any spare power connector.

It sounds like a faulty motherboard, possibly a broken trace. You might try the ancient healing art known as accu-bash. ;) It's not just hitting the thing. It's hitting it in exactly the right place with exactly the right force.

Seriously, if it is booting to either the HD or a bootable floppy, try tapping various places, such as the edge of the vid card, around the AGP connector, etc., while watching the monitor for signs of life. Don't whack it hard enough to do any damage. The shock may temporarily make the connection. That'll at least give you some idea if that's the problem.

Regardless of what you learn, take the whole thing back to the dealer, and let them bring it to life. You paid for a working setup. :)

Again, good luck. :)
