no video on win2k3

I have an interesting problem.
Recently we installed a new Win2k Domain Controller. Everything was fine. I had been accessing the machine via RDP for anything that had to be done.

The other day I tried to access it via the KVM switch in our cabinet and I got no video. Checked all the cables etc nothing wrong.

I rebooted the machine and got post screen, DELL boot up screen etc etc. Even the Windows 2k3 splash. As soon as it kicked to Windows itself though the screen flicked and went blank.

I tried the front and back VGA ports on the server and same stuff.

One quick test (if the network can tolerate a DC being down for a few minutes) is to boot into safe mode, which will use standard VGA.

yeah I can't pull the DC offline right now. But good idea on the safe mode.
I reinstalled the ATI driver too "just in case" but that obviously requires a reboot. Guess I got some after hours work to do this weekend.
