No Video / No Post / No Beeps

I have the normal no video/no beeps error with a new build:
Antec Smartpower 2.0 (350W)
Corsair 512MB (1Dimm)
Sempron 2800+ (Palmetto)
Gigibite Radeon 9550
ECS 755-A2 (ok I cheaped out!)

Anyway.. I would really like to figure out which of these components are not working.
I suspect that it is the ECS... the fans all spin... but nothing shows up... when I pull the memory it beeps... when I pull the video card it beeps... but I don't have spare components to swap in and out. At this point I'm going to order a Chaintech VNF3-250 to test the motherboard... but I am wondering if you gentlemen have ever tried the Soyo Techaid to read post errors? Or if there is another more efficent way to get the error codes without it.

Can't help with the techaid thingy.

First thing I'd do is pull the mobo outta the case and test with cpu, ram, and gfx card. Course, I hook the psu, KB, mouse and monitor too

good rule of thumb for soyo products, their most useful location is the trash can. soyo boards are horrible, absolutely horrible. and the only thing worse is there tech support and rebate service. believe me, it's not worth the money you saved. i would honestly suspect the motherboard before all other products. if possible, i'd send it back and make the investment for anything other than soyo. they have a horrible reputation for being just awful.

Inserted Soyo techaid to test error code on ECS motherboard.

Error code 25. Looked up award error codes.... error code 25 is "reserved"
Contacted ECS tech support... no answer.

Cleared CMOS... rebooted... no luck.

Have you tried pulling the drives and any cards (all unneccessary components) and seeing if it will POST?

Or, even pulling the mobo from the case to rule out a short?

I am trying to post outside of my case on a the cardboard box. with only the ram/video/cpu hooked up to the motherboard. But...that's life. I ordered a new MB a Chaintech VNF3-250.

Well, lets us know if it works.

If it doesn't, guess you'll be able to resolve when the Chaintech comes in.

BTW: built a rig with that mobo/VNF3 last month. Seems to be good choice
