Processor: AMD 2100+
Motherboard: MSI KT4 Ultra
RAM: 512MB DDR
Video Card: GeForce4 4200 Ti 128MB
OS: XP Pro

My dad calls, he is getting no video output from his PC. He turns it on, the system has power, but the monitor goes to sleep. There are no system beeps.

I drop in a Geforce256 DDR, still no video. My take is that the video card is, most likely good. That leaves the monitor or motherboard.

I connect the monitor to a laptop and I find it works, so it's not the monitor.

So, I buy a new motherboard, a ABIT NF7-S. I get everything installed and find I need a new PSU with the auxiliary 4-pin power connector.

The PC now has a new 350watt Antec power supply and a Abit NF7-S mobo.

I power on the PC with the GeForce4 and I still get no video...

Anyone have any ideas? My final guess is the processor, but shouldn't I get some video output even with a bad processor? There is a (bright) red LED in the lower-right of the board that is on all the time. I can't find anything in the manual about it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Wouldn't the system beep for bad memory?

As for the video cable, it's not working with 2 seperate monitors. Forgot to mention that I currently have it connected to a monitor at my house that I know works.
