No Video at Boot (I think it's POSTing)

Alrighty, I just got a whole new system and put it all together this afternoon. I get no video at startup, only a single beep immediately after power on and two very short, close together beeps a few seconds later. Everything in the system is new.

I made sure that the PCI-E power connector is in, the 4-pin connector for the CPU is in as well. I've tried using both sticks of memory in both slots, reseating the card, and resetting the BIOS jumper and none of it seems to make a difference. I also tried using the card in the other PCI-E slot, which didn't help.

I've got an A8N32-SLI, an Athlon X2 4400, and an EVGA 7950 GX2, and two 1GB sticks of Corsair XMS RAM (the kind with the little activity LEDs [which function]).

EVGA tech support told me to try both slots and to try an adapter off a 4-pin Molex for the card power instead of the dedicated 6-pin from the PSU, tried both of those as well. He said it might just be DOA.

Anything else anyone can think of? It all seems to be in order to me but I bet I'm missing some key tiny step. =)

Check the motherboard manual about those beeps. They may indicate a specific problem.
(it sounds normal though..)

try a normal PCI video card, this will at least tell you the problem isn't clearly the motherboard, the chance of both slots not working is really low.

Yep, I tried to look up the beep codes but couldn't find anything that seemed to match them. I've heard the one long and two shorts that indicate a video problem but these beeps weren't the same. All the video cards I have laying around are AGP too... :(

Problem solved: using a bad DVI cable to the monitor, ran a regular VGA cable through an adapter and it worked fine... you would think I would have tried that first. :)
