Amazing, everyone at Anandtech all had something important arriving today! What are the odds?

Just kidding. Anyways, when was the last time there was no mail 3 days in a row? Just a month ago. Snowstorm through Chicago on a friday, no mail then, nor on Saturday either.

Wish everyone got today off, though. The UPS Worldship software wouldn't take the new 2007 rates download and had to spend ~4 hours working with first the tape backup software company to figure out why I can't restore files from the tape - then with UPS support figuring out why the update wouldn't take... I desparately just want to go back home & go to sleep for the rest of the day, hopefully not waking up until tomorrow.

Bwahaha basically an extension for all of us with college app deadlines. Wish Bushie would've done something smarter like put the day of mourning, I dunno, closer to the day President Ford passed away?

Yeah, what was Bush thinking making the day of mourning the same day as the state funeral?

yeah why did bush even let him die? its all a plot by bush! now he can blame the lack of mail on terrorist!

I didn't realize that's what today was...I went to the post office to buy stamps today and they were closed.... I figured they were all still drunk from New Year's....had no idea they were drinking to honor Ford instead.

I decided to walk 2 miles to the post office today, I tried to call them first but the number was disconnected. I get there and was pissed that they were closed today. They made no mention of it on their website frontpage like they should. No I don't care about the walk but I have sh*t that needs to be shipped and they are close by.

Why the f*ck didn't they make a note of it on their websites frontpage, it would have saved me a trip ?

You can't...sign the slip they leave in your door and authorize them to leave the package? Why in the world would you have to take off work to receive a package?

and the stock market is closed for 4 days, the 2nd longest in history behind 9/11.

I think it's BS, we honor a guy by having zero productivity from the government and bringing the stock market to a halt for a day.

Yes, for at least the last 3 late presidents.

Iraqi mailmen haven't had a day off in honor of a late president for 25 years.
