Heartbreaking.

Sucks it was a true story. The world as a whole is run by "look at me in my $30k outfit, my $200k car, my $8 figure home, and my $300/hr girl friend, here is your weapon, see those people over there? Just kill then and watch my stocks go u*, I mean....I will keep you fed!"

I am very happy this movie came out. Most of us were completely uneducated on the subject, myself included. I think most of us dont' know the difference between Hutu and Tutsi, let alone Rawandans, Sudanese, Nigerians, Ethiopians, Somalians, etc. etc.

Seemed very real, and plausible. Apparently, in Africa, these things continue till today. I do not know why the media has stopped giving it attention, or rather why we Americans never really organized to do something. I'm sure there were small groups that did, but mainstream awareness must be created.

In addition, i must admit i always had this opinion that we should stay out of other people's business; why risk our lives for other people? Well, I'm proud to say that I am glad we helped. I just wish we could help more, and; for causes such as this, I for one would be willing to fight to defend the ethnic minorities.

your answer is the typical one.

in the movie it was answered. "No one cares about you" "there is no money in this"

Unfortunately money is driving everyone...even the poor turn on themselves.

I believe in a lot of 'conspiracy theory', however; money wins. If you ever had a boss that tricked their bosses imagine that on a billion dollar+ scale.

If you liked Hotel Rwanda, check out a better third-world massacre film. Oliver Stone's Salvador, just saw it last night and it just may be my favorite movie ever.

jarod diamonds new book collapse has a different take on rawanda. has to do with population explosion..and not enough land. family planning? naw.. catholic church and their position on contraception has a decent part in the collapse of their society. you know how it is when every scrap of land is spoken for and your population continues to explode. either black death, genocide, or emmigration. where there were no tutsis, the hutus killed other hutus:p

We helped more than others probably did.

What was stopping us? Politics? Lack of interest? Its TRULY sad when stories of runaway brides get prime time news spots and frequent news play, and the tragedies in Africa and other parts of the world make tickers (at the most) at the bottom of our television screens.

pathetic.
I for one don't tune into b.s. news reports such as this.

We didn't really...

I just wish we could help more

I didn't really care for it. Needed some serious plotwork, most of it just wasn't believable\realistic.
