No temp on unlocked 435

I bought an Athlon II 435 and it works perfectly. I then used ACC to unlock the fourth core and it continued to work fine even when running Prime95, but I can no longer monitor the temp using AMD's overclock utility or CPU-Z. The BIOS temp reading still does work, however. Is this normal? Anybody ever seen it before?

On a related topic, last night I went into my BIOS to try and increase the overclock from 5% to 10%. I noticed the temp was idling at 45C. That was confusing because I remember it idling at 38C when I first installed it. I took the side of my computer off to look at it and within 10 minutes my temp was back down to 38C. LOUSY DAMN CASE! So now I'm in the market for a new one.

I might be mistaken as I have never unlocked a processor, but I think they all loose their core temp sensors once unlocked.

Yes, unlocking cores disables temp monitoring. You can use HWMonitor to see what your temps are when in X3 mode, and then add a few degrees when unlocked in X4 mode.

Well, that sucks. However, it doesn't suck enough to re-lock the fourth core.

Thanks for the info.

I use the TMP2 senor in HWMonitor for a 'good guess' - seems consistent with readings prior to unlocking.
