Got her when i was 6 my brother found her and we have had her since 1993. she was about 1-2 years old when we found her, shes been a great dog.

German Shepherd Beagle mix. great dog, always was obediant, but you could tell lately her rear hips were going, they would splay out on or hardwood floor, and she wasnt as good at walking.
well today i guess she couldnt even walk, so my dad picked her up and carried her out to our garage. shes laying there, and cant stand up. i dont want to see her go, but its best for her. shes been here for 15 years or so and shes been great.

I just got dog for the first time last summer. I never realized how attached someone can become to one.

I'm sorry. :(

At least she's had a great life. When a dog makes it to old age, they were well fed and well taken care of. Just try to remember all the good times that you shared. Things will get better.

Spend as much time as you can with her, try to comfort her, be there for her. I am so sorry, that sucks. :(

You gave her a good life, she was lucky to have found a loving family to care for her. :) Think of it that way too.

don't they make those wheel harnesses for dogs that can't walk with their rear legs? like an ass rickshaw?

Do her a favor and show her how much you love her until the end. I just lost my 2 dogs during Halloween, I'm sure they were glad that they were around the people that loved them and gave them something a lot of dogs can't have.

I don't understand, we put down pets when they're miserable, why not granny?

Sorry to hear that you have to go through the loss like this. There's nothing that can be done - anti-inflamation drugs/pain relievers/etc.? :(

her hips go straight out, she isnt in pain, just no strength back there really. she is lieing in our garage with her back legs splayed outward from her body and she is unable to pull them in or anything.
