Can we assume that every call made inside the US is routed through GB and then back to the US?

If I call my buddie in the same town, the Brits record and analyze it and report to the Fed's.

Sounds kind of tin-foilish, but then again...

As one training slide told new users: "You are in an enviable position – have fun and make the most of it."

I don't think there's that much concern over the constitutionality of just listening to your calls right here in the USA.

Are you kidding? I'd have a blast with that kind of data. Just listening in to what Afghans say on their cell phones, radios, etc. is entertaining as heck. I can only imagine what gems domestic surveillance produces.

everyone who reads this needs to learn about the "prism" technology, that's what makes this work.

Not sure what Britain, a middling country with no real world power, would use all that spying for unless:

The United States was using her as a legal loophole. So, whatever isn't legal in the US they have the British do then the British relay it back to us. Easypeasy. Same thing for the Brits. Something tells me GCHQ's (and the rest of the Five Eyes') spying programs are subsidized by the United States...

GB is to us what Cuba was to the USSR.

i'm to lazy to find links right now, but they are out everywhere..

learn about prism technology, it's an actual glass prizm, in line with the fiber backbones, allowing us to "split" the light signal in fiber optical technology, we then have the UK, divert there "collection of data" to us (therefore making it technically legal, we are still actually analyzing the data with an algorithm involving keywords and a variety of other "signatures" they are spying on)

and we do the same vice versa for them...

it's a loophole, a technical loophole, it should be illegal. the average person doesn't know enough about IT to know exactly how big of a deal this is.

I like that you at least include yourself: we. Good to know you're on board, fellow patriot.

Almost everything about the militaries of all 4 non-US five eyes countries is heavily subsidized by the US. Look at how much the US pays per non-American Anglo soldier involved in our wars. ;)
