no spell check in Android Chrome .. or browsers for that matter?

the red misspell underlining .. it works most everywhere else on my Note 3 and Tab s2

but not in Chrome :/ or other browsers for that matter

I am sure it is an issue for many ..

what is the solution around it? (short of cut - paste into some notepad application .. correct it .. and paste back .. )

any other thoughts .. advice?

Yea, and it sucks. I want it to work like the desktop where misspellings are highlighted, and a long push on the word gives you the choice to correct, or add to the dictionary.

Did you turn autocorrect off on your Note 3? Mine works - it doesn't need the red underlining.
