No Southbridge heatsink/fan

My southbridge fan (Neo2) has finally died. I don't think this little cra$$y thing did anything to start with, a passive design would have been a better option.

Question is, has anyone tried this? I was thinking about running the board at stock speeds until I can find a nice passive solution that will not get in the way of the AGP slot.

Thoughts anyone?

Be careful. The NB doesn't have any thermal protection. Most will work with a decent passive heatsink, but if you get them toasty hot, they can burn out. ;)

That's what I'm worried about...I have no way to regulate the temp without a sink of some sort, and I'm sure the stock one without a fan is useless.

Now if I could only find one of my old 486 heatsinks to use...life would be good :)
