I just ordered a new DFI ultra-d mobo, received, and installed successfullly. The mobo works like a champ, and runs extremely fast. However, I am unable to receive any sound at all from the motherboard.

I installed the audio drivers from the CD, and windows recognizes the realtek ac97 device on the motherboard and says it is working fine. I've tried system sounds and the default mp3s in windows, neither of which works.

The speakers are connected, volume control is fine, and I am lost what to do.

Please help!

Make sure there are jumper caps installed across pins 5-6 and 9-10 of the Karajan module's jumper/connector block.

Ah, thanks a million. Fixed!

I removed those caps when trying to connect a front audio connector and didn't realize they were needed.
