I don't get any sound in my speakers. When I go under Control panel >Sound and multimedia the volume control bar is set to LOW, Completely to the left which expains why I am not getting any sound in my speakers. The problem is my volume control bar is greyed out hence I can't increase the volume on the slider???

When i click on the volume control in the task bar it gives me the error "There are no active mixer devices available...."
Any advice ??? PLEASE PLEASE..................................PLEASE

Any conflicts in the hardware -> device manager menu, and I take it you have installed the proper drivers for the card? If it is a Creative Live card, did you install the livewire pack for Win2000?

Go to device manager and see if the sound card is working correctly, you may need to reload the drivers, just use the wizard to do that.
If that doesn't fix it. it may be that the card isn't seated correctly in the board, just take it out and refit it again. That happened to me a couple of weeks ago and has been working fine ever since.
Good luck, hope your card hasn't died on you.
